Researchers from the University of Hong Kong said they had confirmed what is believed to be the world’s first known case of a Covid-19 reinfection on August 24,2020. The 33-year-old man from Hong Kong was found to have contracted the coronavirus again, four and a half months after his first confirmed infection in March when he was treated and later discharged. The man had travelled to Spain in August, and returned to Hong Kong via London before his second infection was discovered.
